As you're listening take notes on important details, facts, details, and stasitics. Be sure that you can describe how Shakespeare and Hip-hop are related.

Thursday/Friday 3/25 - 3/26

Thursday: Write a narrative using one of the following prompts from "Death by Scrabble."

1.Rewrite the story from the wife’s point of view.
2.Write a story that begins with the same line and ends with the death of a spouse but is developed through a different game of play.
3.Write your own  “Scrabble by Death” story that uses AT LEAST 12 of the same words of gameplay but develops differently.
4.Change the atmosphere of the story by writing a story where the words of Scrabble play makes the players’ dreams come true. Create a surprise ending with a negative plot twist where the wishes end up unfortunate. 

Friday: Revise and edit narrative according to the following criteria:
Narrative W3:  Criteria Standards for this Performance
  1. Create a plot with a natural sequence. Develop a clear beginning, middle, and ending.
  2. Use narrative techniques.  Examples include dialogue, suspense, pacing, figurative language, and sensory language.
  3. Integrate source material. 
  4. Be sure your response addresses the prompt and shows understanding of original story.
  5. Write clearly with few errors.  Use correct dialogue format, indent when speaker changes, use correct grammar.
